You know those days when you just feel like you need to be outside and breathe fresh air? Well, that was this trip. There wasn’t a whole lot happening other then being lost; lost in Cheyenne trying to find a grocery store, lost in Vedauwoo in Laramie County trying to find road 705J (which isn’t marked), and lost in the forest trying to find the climbing area. But the best part of being lost is you get to see things you normally miss on a direct route.
I learned that Cheyenne seems to be a pretty slow going town, at least on a Saturday afternoon, and that the architecture of their homes are pretty stinking awesome! I also learned that Wyoming had aspen trees, something I seriously thought only Colorado had…haha I know, I know, I am so biased! I learned that Wyoming feels like New Mexicoin that when the sun comes out it is blazing hot then when the wind blows the next second you’re freezing your buns off!I also learned that mountain project isn’t always right about the routes. Most of them said they could handle a 50m rope, which we had. And rappeling down learned that it so isn’t haha. Rappelling off a bolt…that was interesting.
It was an adventure for sure. And well gorgeous. Definitely a place I’d be happy to go back to, and who knew its only two hours from where we live!
So, here are some photos from this adventure, of course I never got enough climbing pictures, but to make up for our last trip I got one of f Jay climbing who I didn’t get any of last time. haha
This was our tent at night.
Just kiddin! 😉
I was excited Josh came with us, he read most of the time. Probably because watching me climb terrifies him…thinking I’m going to die.
And with my iphone anchored in cleaning the top of the route….I could have stayed up there for hours.
How I high I was….obviously not fit for that 50m rope…as you can see Jay is belaying from the 3rd anchor up…we have wonderful climbing practices haha.
