Winter Park {A Wintery Drive Day Two} | Denver Wedding Photographer | Denver Vintage Wedding Photography

Ok, so this really wasn’t another wintery drive, technically. I actually went up to Winter Park to meet some friends for some boarding. Well, to be honest I had more fun driving than boarding. I should have known better than to expect an epic day boarding on a weekend holiday when the resort had not received any new snow in a week. It is a little weird for me to say that I had more fun driving and taking photos because I used to be OBSESSED about snowboarding. I seriously dreamed about it year round and counted down the days until winter was here. Just to be completely honest, all the boarding there is to do up here in CO was a big motivation to move up here. haha. But, I guess as you grow older so do your passions. I think though I just am falling more in love with our creator than anything else. And I am so thankful this prayer has been answered, because I know I am too selfish to muster up that love myself.

While I was driving in I just took it all in. I have only driven up the road to Winter Park from I-70 once before and was in the back seat fighting carsickness. As you can imagine I didn’t spend too much time looking around or admiring. Since I was driving I was able to take it all in a bit more, and man is it  gorgeous up there! It is seriously epic!

As I was driving out I took my time (as best as I could in holiday traffic on a mountain road) to stop and take some photos along the way. I honestly didn’t get to stop as much as I wanted to because once the road turned from 3 lanes to 2 lanes I wasn’t able to get on and off the road easily with the traffic going 50mph on these twisting roads. I seriously wanted to shout to every driver out there to just SLOW down and take in the majesty they are before. You know, stop and smell the roses! 😉 Except mountains are harder to miss haha.

I’m thankful I could take the time to admire the majestic rockies and am so thankful God created them. I am just so amazed with our God. He says nature is a reflection of His character and proclaims His name. I am completely stunned at how remarkable this area is which makes me see in humility how great our God truly must be.

Peonies in the Foundations {Hope in the Midst of a Dark Season | Emmy’s Personal Story with Chronic Illnesses}

The tulips didn’t bloom that year. It was the first year they hadn’t bloomed in the 3 years we had lived in our house. It was also the first year I started to get really sick.

.

That same year in literal crack of the foundation of our home and the rocks a new plant started to grow.

.

I knew this plant was a sign of hope from God.

.

God’s provisions aren’t always easy, nor are they simple, it almost always makes absolutely no sense, but it is always beautiful and good.

.

This has been absolutely true for our life today. Click to read more.

How I got started as a photographer | Denver Mountain, Colorado Family Photographer Elopement Wedding Photographer

Ever wonder how I got into photography? I actually started as a graphic designer and felt lead to pursue photography despite my begrudging  attitude that everyone was a photographer.  Read more on my blog on how God called me into something I was admit I wasn’t going to do. And see how far I’ve come, we’re talking OLD bad quality photos circa 2009.
