What if this year you didn’t just celebrate the new year at home? What if you celebrated how far you’ve come. It’s no surprise this year was a challenging year for most people. But what if, instead of just jumping to how to celebrate the new year at home, you stepped into celebrating how far you’ve come this year while you still dream big for the new year!
Hey, I’m Emmy, photographer, encourager, beauty hunter, and yoga teacher here at Celebrate Again. I’m starting this movement to help all of us step out of just doing, step out of surviving, and into thriving. Will you join me?
How to celebrate the new year at home?
Here are some ideas to help you celebrate how far you’ve come and ring in the new year with cheer!
Perform a backyard fire releasing ceremony
Check that fires are safe in your area
Grab some wood and build your campfire, complete with safe ways to put it out quickly (a full bucket of water or sand close by)
Write down on a piece of paper the ways you’re proud of yourself and your family for how far you’ve come this year
Rip the paper up and throw it into the fire
Feel free to add music and yummy food to your celebration!
Do A Visual Meditation
Visualizing where we have been and where we want to go is beyond powerful to step into the future! Take some time to step into your meditation practice and visualize how far you’ve come this year and dream big for your new year. Escape to a mountain top or beachside fire to do your own releasing ceremony. You can even visualize the act of throwing rocks over the cliff edge as you release or throwing paper in a fire if you aren’t physically doing this. Use your imagination!
Sit Around A Table with Family & Friends, Light Candles and Round Robin How Far You've Each Come
Cannot be with you’re loved ones? Set up a large video call but still light that candle, decorate your table and make a true beautiful communion of it!
Pro Tip I do really recommend if you do this as a community of people you do this alone first too. Sometimes our egos kick around others, wanting to have the most profound or special thing to say can come into play here and we can neglect doing this just for ourselves.
