Hi darling, I’m Lumalia, I cannot wait for you to experience this workshop.

If it weren’t for this information and these practices, I’d most likely be bedridden, in horrific pain, stuck in chronic illnesses, unable to do the work and things in the world I love, and in a passionless marriage. 

Learning these truths the hard way took me nearly a decade to piece together, 10’s of thousands of dollars and countless trainings and certifications to figure out why I couldn’t feel confident, why I couldn’t feel connected to my body when I was told it was attacking itself, let alone do the things I love so much, like dancing, creating art, and exploring, and why I could not get my husband to love me the way I deeply desired to be cherished. 

A decade later, I find myself living a ridiculously beautiful life, fully connected to my body, its innate wholeness, and its beautiful wisdom. I am wildly confident, feel resilient no matter what happens in my life, and finally, in the relationships I’ve always desired as a mother, wife, friend, and teacher.

As a self-coined beauty hunter and connection architect, 

you’ll find me falling in love with new somatic visualization journeys to share with my clients, with my camera empowering women and couples to feel radical connection, with my laptop sharing my stories and memories (find my first one here, Blooming Upside Down), buried in a book, or with my family or friends exploring the stunning majesty of the Pacific Northwest.

This class is for anyone identifying as a woman or femme. 

You’re more than welcome. This workshop will be absolutely beginner-friendly but also introduce a new effective modality so even seasoned movement or meditation persons will feel excited about the practice. 

Just like when you read or listen to a book, you imagine what the character might look like or where they are based on the story you are experiencing. Visualization practices take a person on a visual journey to experience the subconscious mind, where deep memories and reasons for behaving the way we do are stored. When we go on visual journeys, we can tap into the subconscious mind and rewire how we respond and interact in the world through the power of stories and our envisioning. 

Somatic (body-centered) exercises invite you to notice and follow the sensations of your body, listening to the body’s subtle messages and possible desires for movement. One practice Lumalia will share with you is similar to body scans, Yoga or Thai Chi, where an instructor gives directions and intentions on what to explore, notice, or how to move. However, the somatic practice in this workshop is more accessible because it uses free-form movement, meaning you’ll listen to how you want to move instead of being told how to move. Lumalia will guide you through visualization or intention to listen to what your body has to say. This can show up in some people as colors, images, sensations like warmth buzzing, or even goosebumps. However, there is no right or wrong way to do this practice, and that’s the best part of it all!
