Ten Years Ago
After having my daughter, my health declined. I became bedridden and diagnosed with several chronic and autoimmune diseases that remained largely untreatable. Plagued with disabilities, I had to shut down my seven-year wedding photography business and stop activities like rock climbing, dancing, and caring for my daughter.
Yet deep down, I knew the answers lay in the darkness.
After years of exploring various treatments and practices, I discovered my body was wise. Each symptom revealed truths I hadn’t faced until I felt safe through yoga and somatic practices.
Delving into herbalism, meditation, psychology, neuroscience, and quantum theories unearthed wisdom hidden beneath old stories.
I moved from what felt like a completely hopeless existence to having such a deep affection and celebration with myself and my body that is now unshakable.
This precious body of mine is the most sacred home I’ll ever dwell in, and I’m so thankful for every beautiful sensation I experience here.
And I cannot wait to be your guide in celebrating you.

How Does it work?
1. Schedule
your vision call with Lumalia, here we’ll talk about: how to support you in your self-love journey and amplify your unique experience. We’ll also dream up ideas of where, when, and what themes you might want to incorporate.
(You can get into this by checking out our past photo shoots here!)
2. Book
Reserve your place with a $400 service fee and schedule your date with a $100 non refundable deposit. All $500 will then go towards your final package coast due two days after your photo session.
Once booked Lumalia, will also create an embodiment road map with integrative practices (like Lumalia’s 3-part series of Self Love Yoga or selections from her 30-day Self Care Challenge to begin before your session so you arrive feeling empowered and confident!

Dive into guided journeys to anchor deeper into your self-love embodiment with curated content for you from Lumalia’s Self-Care Membership
3. Prep
Gather your outfits, stylies, props, based on Lumalia’s curated style guide with options to get your hair and make up done!

Join the community with regular monthly invite only Celebrate Again open mic nights and photo share nights where women who have participated in a Your Body as Poetry photography session, like yourself or joined Blooming Caverns Women’s retreats will gather to celebrate each other and have a femme only space for deep witnessing and empowerement.
Questions:
No. While boudoir is historically associated with certain themes, this is about you feeling at home in your body, expressing all parts of yourself, and moving into a deeper friendship with yourself.
Whether that means being completely naked while hugging trees, covered in moss, adorned with flowers, or draped in your favorite velvet dress, I’m here to support whatever makes you feel good.
During our vision call, we’ll discuss what to wear, and I’ll create a styling guide for you based on what you already have or items you can purchase, keeping your budget and sustainability in mind.
Schedule a vision call with Lumalia.
After your vision call, you’ll sign your photography contract and pay the rest of your non-refundable deposit ($100) to reserve a date with Lumalia and a $400 service fee (which will deducted from your total package amount).
Your final package amount is due two days after your photoshoot or in your designated monthly payment plan.
Lumalia has very limited monthly bookings, so jump in before she books out!
Yes, you can do that here. Vision calls are $50, which can be applied toward your deposit if you do book.
However, if we both determine that we aren’t a good fit, I will refund you $50.
If you do not show up or cancel our call, the fee will cover the time I set aside for it and will be non-refundable.
If you need to reschedule for any reason other than a family or personal emergency, there will be an additional fee of $50 to reschedule.

Yes, all interest-free plans can be paid off within three months. However, photos are not delivered until all payments have been received. If you’re looking for a more flexible payment option, I partner with a company that provides a payment plan with a 4% interest rate, which allows photos to be delivered after your shoot.
You will receive five sneak peek images within a week. After that, it will take a maximum of six weeks to receive your full gallery, but we always strive to get them back to you as soon as possible.
Through a personalized online gallery, you can download both full-resolution and web-sized images. It’s important to download your images, as galleries remain open for only a few months after your photoshoot before they are moved to our archives.
Usually, two per hour. However, if you have simple layers, we can play with more. However, I really encourage using props and clothing as amplifiers instead of hiding behind or hiding parts of yourself.
Yes! I’ll gladly do boudoir photography in the Pacific Northwest, Boudoir photography in Hawaii, Boudoir photography in Denver, or anywhere you want to send me to find your landscape muse!
Travel fees outside of the Pacific Northwest are not included in any package fees.

There’s no need to be a model, have special training or follow any specific method to benefit from this experience.
Lumalia has successfully collaborated with everyday people as a wellness practitioner and photographer to create unforgettable experiences and art. You are welcome just as you are.
On our first vision call, I’ll work with you to create a vision. Then, I’ll research locations to find a few for you to choose from. Some locations will require rental fees or permits for us to take photos, which will add to the cost of your packages.
If you have a specific location in mind, I can research about taking photos there, but I will only take photos in locations that allow us to be there legally.

Yes, as a part of working with Lumalia she’ll create a stylize guide for you working with what you have in your closet already or finding clothing that is sustainably made within your budget.
As a photographer and wellness practitioner, I will guide you through movements that help you feel good rather than forcing you into a shape deemed flattering by the patriarchal gaze that objectifies women.
My goal is to foster a movement of compassion towards our bodies and embrace their current shapes and textures without judgment, cellulite included. For this reason, I do not offer skin smoothing, wrinkle removals, or retouching.
However, if you have a random pimple, cut, or burn on that day, please let me know, and I’ll retouch those.
