What to Expect at Our Feminine Embodiment Retreat

Embodied Movement (Kindred Practice)
Experience a gentle somatic movement journey rooted in the Kindred method—an intuitive, body-led exploration that invites your nervous system into safety, softness, and creative expression. No movement experience is needed—just a willingness to listen and befriend your body.

This is where the feminine embodiment retreat begins: deep presence in the body and flow.

Ritual Creativity with Nature
Craft with intention using seasonal flowers and natural materials to create ritual art that honors your journey. Each creation becomes a symbolic act of sovereignty and self-love—an embodied expression of your unique essence.

About Your Host’s

Lumalia Armstrong – Kindred Movement Meditation Facilitator, Yoga Teacher, Author, Photographer

Lumalia is visual and movement poet — a weaver of image, word, and soul — devoted to reawakening sacred beauty, emotional freedom, and body connection in humanity through the wisdom of nature and the intuitive body.

Her work lives at the intersection of visual storytelling, ritual, and remembrance. Whether she’s guiding somatic journeys, leading women’s retreats in Oregon, photographing boudoir photography, or crafting art from earth’s offerings, she holds space for what is often unseen: the wild, the tender, the holy within.

Lindsay Anderson – Yoga Teacher, LPC

Lindsay is a mover, a nature devotee, and a space holder for embodied healing. Originally from the California coast just outside San Francisco, she now calls Portland, Oregon home, where she earned her M.A. in Professional Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Addictions.

Her roots are deeply planted in movement — not just as physical expression, but as a path to presence, play, and deep self-knowing. As a yoga teacher and outdoor adventurer, Lindsay feels most at peace when surrounded by the rhythms of the natural world. It’s where things make sense, where the body softens, and the heart opens.

Lindsay brings a grounded, joyful energy to this retreat, guiding others to reconnect with their breath, body, and sense of inner home. Her presence invites playfulness, curiosity, and the safety to explore your own unique rhythm — one breath, one movement, one moment at a time.

Together

In this retreat, Lindsay and Lumalia will bring their devotion to the sacred feminine, offering invitations to listen more deeply to your body, sensations, and creative essence. Through Kindred, a gentle somatic movement practice, we will move beyond performance into presence. Together, we will co-create rituals that reflect your inner world and welcome you back to your natural rhythm.

Whether through movement, words, or flowers, my art is always an invitation to slow down, feel deeply, and remember:
You are not a problem to fix.
You are a garden to tend.
A wild thing to love.
A mystery to behold.

Reviews from past Kindred: Somatic Movement retreats with Lumalia

  • “I don’t always have the easiest time expressing how I’m really feeling…it was really nice to just not with words but movement to then feel seen and received but not have to exhaust myself verbally.”
  • “Being witnessed can be a challenge for me so it felt nice to have the safety in it.
  • “I feel like the smile doesn’t want to leave.”
  • “It’s nice not to have to talk.”
  • “It felt so good to be in our bodies in a group.”

F.A.Q.

What is somatic movement?

It is where intuitive movement meets the wisdom of the body. Here, we do not adopt any shapes or forms; instead, we allow the body to move as it desires. Often, we engage in this type of movement when we speak or without awareness, but here we do it intentionally. All somatic movement is guided audibly by Lumalia and invited into whatever expression your body wishes to explore. Sometimes, this manifests as a gentle sway, other times as a movement of the hands, and occasionally as a full unfurling of the body. Initially, it may resemble theater improv expression, but gradually it transitions into a flow similar to the sensation of walking, where thoughts quiet and the body instinctively knows what to “say” through movement.

Do I need to be a “dancer/mover” or artist to join?

NO! No previous movement or dance experience is required.

What if I’m really shy?

You’re in good company. Our experiences are known for helping even the most reserved humans feel their complete selves.

A Feminine Embodiment and Creativity Retreat to Remember

This retreat is a portal back to your wholeness—a space where art becomes healing, movement becomes language, and community becomes medicine. Through embodied practices, ritual co-creation, and heartfelt connection, you’ll leave feeling nourished, reconnected, and free.

About the Author

Lumalia standing near a coastline with her hair blowing in the wind

Hey, I’m Lumalia, photographer, author, certified somatic movement yoga teacher, and the main voice behind Celebrate Again. I call myself a connection architect because I have a deep passion for guiding us all to fall back in love with life through states of beauty, but many of us are far from feeling at home in our own bodies, so we seek to find safety in others.

Yikes, that’s scary, I know; I did that for three decades, too, until I returned home to myself.

I’m so excited to share with you all I’ve learned and this beautiful journey back home to what makes you absolutely stunning just because you are alive today.
