Finally! I get to share these photos!
When I asked Andrew and Jessica where they wanted to take their engagement photos they weren’t quite sure. So I gave my typical reply. I asked if they wanted something urban, or something rural. They said something urban but rustic. I then suggested we shoot at a brewery.
I suggested this because when I first meet them I asked what they liked to do together. Going to breweries was one of their answers. I am so thankful I ask these things to help couples draw out fun things about themselves and be able to capture their unique interests and commonalities.
Per Andrew and Jessica’s request we went to Black Shirt Brewing Co. They are a newish brewery in town near Curtis Park. Andrew and Jessica are big fan’s of red ale’s which Black Shirt specializes in. They also loved the rustic smooth feel Black Shirt’s Tap room offers to its local visitors.
We got in touch with Black Shirt and they kindly let us come into their tap room an hour before they opened.
Andrew and Jessica were a bit nervous about not being “photogentic.” Honestly, I don’t believe there is such a thing; I believe in helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I feel like they both easily opened, especially once we liquored them up. 😉 haha
This was a new fun way for me to capture the lovely engagement ring!
After they opened up we spent a few minutes outside their building where there was some great intentional graffiti and brick walls. Of course, I found some plants to photograph around too. I just love creation too much to not include it. 😉 (Not, that I don’t believe God has created some amazing minds of people to create stunning architecture and design, but I cannot get enough of greenery.)
I loved capturing their love and love for beer!
Many thanks to Black Shirt Brewing for letting us come take over for an hour!
More from their wedding coming tomorrow!
