Sydney & Brett are high school sweethearts. When I first meet them I asked what is one word they would use to describe their relationship.
They replied “Long.”
I immediately laughed and asked if they were already married.
They seem to have this adoration for each other that obviously comes with years of loving each other and growing together. It is so beautiful how Brett strives to please Sydney and Sydney tries to draw out what she adores in Brett for other’s to see. It is so delightful! 🙂
I do have to admit shooting engagement sessions into the last months of pregnancy have been very challenging, mostly because I want to spend the weekends nesting, but also because I just do not have the energy and movement abilities I used to. But I was so thankful the Lord provided so much strength and energy for Sydney & Brett’s rustic engagement session! Not to mention the perfect light and snow cover to make their engagement photos dreamy and romantic. Plus, they are pretty adorable together.
We took these photos out on Brett’s grandparents homestead out in Eastern, CO. The character the homestead held was perfect, not to mention the basketball court, old pick up, swing, and gates that made for some fun options in shooting.
Brett plays college basketball, which I am thankful Sydney made a point of us taking photos to reflect that part of his life.
They also have a dog Petey who is pretty adorable and like their little baby. 😉 She didn’t last very long in the freezing cold, but we did get a few shots of her.
I always find it fun what different words get dog’s attention for photos. Her’s was bacon, haha.
Brett did an excellent job picking out Sydney’s ring. And these weeds covered in snow made a beautiful place to capture it! 😉 I just adore how snow makes even weeds look pretty. God makes beautiful things, indeed.
I cannot wait to photograph Sydney and Brett’s wedding later this year! Thanks guys for letting me a part of capturing your story together!
