October 2016 UPDATE: Searching For The Light, Emmy Gaines, is no longer photographing full weddings but is still available to photograph weddings as an associate photographer with other amazing companies. Email Emmy for more info.

It is with great sorrow and relief that I write this open letter to the world. After seven years of amazing business I’ve come to a huge life change that will bring Searching for the Light Photography to a closing chapter in December 2016.

After seven amazing years and two years of trying to run a business as a stay-at-home mom, I’ve been brought to my knees (read my previous blog post) to realize that my health, my family and my business have not had my full devotion. After much prayer, counsel and dealing with health issues I’ve come to realize that it’s time to take a break from running a business.

I will no longer be accepting any more wedding bookings for 2016. I have a handful of amazing clients that I will be giving my all to as a photographer for this wonderful last wedding season. Then, after this year (2016), I will shut my business down. You will still see me as a photographer as I work for other photographers but I will not be accepting my own clients.

What now? Besides giving my all to my current couples I will be spending time recovering from my health issues and spending more time with my family. Lord willing, in a few years time I will relaunch a new venture that I have had brewing in my mind and prayers.

My hope and prayer is to continue to work as a wedding photographer but for another company. So if you love my work feel free to shoot me an email and I’ll do my best to get you connected so we can work together! Also, if you just need photography down the road please don’t hesitate to ask me for referrals. I have an amazing network of photographers that can take good care of you all.

Don’t hesitate to email me with any questions or concerns you might have. I am an open book with what’s going on and would love to share more of my story if you find yourself in similar shoes.

Here’s to a wonderful 2016 wedding season that will be an amazing ending chapter to Searching for the Light Photography.

Thank you to you all who have supported me and been a part of this amazing journey I never imagined myself on t his journey, but what an amazing journey it’s been.
