Fun Date Night Ideas For Married Couples

I’ve come to find that most couples only have professional photographs of themselves as a couple from their wedding day. Yet, if they have kids they’ll have plenty of photographs of them with the kids or just the kids. I truly find this somewhat sobering.
I do believe kids and celebrating family is VERY important, because it is definitely a blessing! But, I feel like most Americans forget about their marriage relationship once they do have kids. They forget the sweet moments they had before the little ones came along and forget to truly celebrate the love they first had when they were newlyweds. I cannot say this is true for every couple but it seems to be a common factor and I cannot help wonder if it is a part of the many reasons there is a 50% divorce rate right now. (Honestly, I know the true issue is selfishness i.e. sin but that is a whole other can of worms.)

So, what I am suggesting? Well, I truly think couples should make date nights, every other week if not every week. Spend time together, and grow in your love.

One amazing, pricey, but wonderfully worth it, date night could be a beloved photo shoot.  It is a popular thing now days that is an engagement like photo session for married couples. (Too expensive for date night? Make it an affordable anniversary gift!)

You have beautiful pictures of your kids as they grow and change, why not of you and your spouse!? You are different people than when you first got married and your love is different. Lord willing it is deeper and more beautiful, so why not capture it how it has grown!

Some great ideas for this date night photo shot is doing something fun, like a picnic or going to get ice cream and riding bikes together, or whatever fun activity that portrays your personalities. It could even be in a book store reading books or snowboarding together!

You’d be surprised how much fun letting go and enjoying an evening (or afternoon) being captured with your hubby (or wife) could be. Then, for years to come you’ll have pictures of that date, and celebrate the love you share together!

Don’t let the celebration end after you say “I do.”
