When I first drove up to the farm we were going to photograph at I introduced myself to the home owners, soon to find out they had no idea who Jenni and Kipp were. Knowing I was in the right place I scoped out the area and waited until they arrived. Later I found out the farm was actually run by Kipp’s cousins and the couple I meet were just renting the home….details are important to ask haha. Jenni and Kipp are SUPER adorable together. Kipp was anxious at first to not be wasting my time and seriously wondering if they would be good, because he thought, like most photographers I just share the “photogenic” people on my blog and website. I assured him I don’t and that I make that a part of my job to help the best sides of people come out. I’m so thankful I was able to instantly help these two relax and just have fun. They both were so great and the Lord just provided the perfect weather, the perfect sunlight and the perfect setting for these two who plan to make their lives together out in the “country” of Colorado.
Before every session I always ask couples if they plan on bringing any props, or anything special. Jenni and Kipp brought pumpkins and antlers. Kipp hunts for these antlers once they fall off the animals. (There is a name for this I cannot remember what its called.) Jenni told about the antlers hesitantly wondering what we would do with them, but wanted to include them because Kipp was SO excited about them. Well, I had a few ideas and I LOVE how they came out.
At the top of the barn was a window that allowed us to get this sweet photo to the right.

Besides the props Jenni only request was to get photos of them swing dancing. I was SO excited when she mentioned this. One, because I LOVE dancing and two because I’ve never actually photographed couples swing dancing before. Most couples do traditional slow dances on their wedding days so this was a treat. Not to mention the gorgeous evening light we were able to catch while they were dancing!
I loved that Kipp had so many ideas during the shoot. He wanted pictures on every piece of equipment his cousins had out there. haha. My favorite was the truck though. I loved how this one turned out, and is a perfect ending photo for this blog!
