When I first meet Brianne and Justin, Brianne did all the talking. Justin sat quietly resting his hand on his bride-to-be’s thigh, cheerily smiling at little sweet comments Brianne made when I asked questions about how they meet and what they like to do together. From my first interaction with them, it was evident that Justin couldn’t wait to be married to Brianne and Brianne couldn’t wait to be with this quirky IT guy she meet at work. Together, they are goofy, silly and extremely easy going. <3 On their wedding day rain a big storm was rolling in. I was excited for the cloud cover because it is so much better than direct sunlight during outdoor ceremonies. We made it through the ceremony just before it started to down-pour. After the ceremony we shot a few family portraits and I asked if they’d be willing to go outside in the rain for a few photos. (I was honestly expect a big, no. Most people don’t want to go into the pouring rain in their very expensive outfits and costly make-up and hair stylings.) BUT, they said YES!
I was beyond thrilled.
Brittany, my second shooter, had this amazing clear umbrella that we used for most of the portraits outside. Since it was cloudy and right at sunset it was pretty dark, so I grabbed my flash to light some of the rain drops and play around a little.
While it wasn’t completely down pouring on us taking these photos we still had a blast capturing the drizzling rain. And man, am I so excited to give these photos to Brianne and Justin. They will truly have photos until most people. I give full credit to God for providing the untraditional weather for this very unique couple. He does greatly love marriages, and blessing them. 😉
Ok, and now for all the sweet, funny and joyful moments from this stunning day.
Yet another reason to have a second shooter, during the first look you can get both of your expressions when you first see each other! (Brittany snagged the right one.)
Brianne and Justin said they particularly didn’t like photos of people being really small and far away in them, but I just loved this one of them hanging out in the gazebo. Sometimes I sneak in photos just for me. <3
Ok, I know the photo on the right is a little weird because Justin’s face is half cut off by Brianne’s dad but I love the ideas in photos of telling half the story and letting your imagination tell the rest. Story prompt for english teachers!?
Yes, we did this. It was hilarious.
I’ve always had this thing with finding the non-obvious moments in photographs. This one worked out perfectly well for just that, except I did a little post production work to make your eye find the moment. 😉
Love happening everywhere!
And finally, one of my favorites from the evening. I love this because it’s like he is whispering something only lovers would know into her ear…I’m such a romantic its ridiculous. haha
Coming tomorrow, the stunning and creative details of this lovely wedding!
We’d love to work with you as your Colorado elopement photographer and guide!
