Laura and Fabian live in Ohio, but they got married in Espanola, NM where Fabian grew up. They were married in an old Catholic church in the village of Santa Cruz which is right outside of Espanola. The church building was beautiful! Typically when people tell me their ceremony is at a church I have a feeling of dread because honestly most churches are pretty ugly inside and have horrid lighting making my job a lot harder. Not to mention most grounds of churches are full of concrete and ugly parking lots. But the outside of this church was beautiful! Not to mention we had perfect weather; cloud cover most of the time with a little sprinkling of rain here and there.
Typically, I meet the couples I photograph a handful of times before their wedding day, but being in Ohio Laura, Fabian and I had to do our meetings over Skype. Upon meeting them I was so excited to discover that they are both really silly, playful and just so enjoyable to be around…and well I’ll let the pictures do the justifying of that.
So this photo turned out AWESOME because you can see the actual spray coming out of the bottle! haha
Laura made such a gorgeous bride. Everyone kept saying she looked like a Barbie doll…which I’d totally agree. 😉
The most adorable part of Laura and Fabians relationship is this cute little wave they do to each other when the first see each other. Fabian of course did this as he saw his beautiful bride walking towards him…so awesome!
So I must be real here and admit this was the first Catholic ceremony I have ever done. While I was thankful Laura, Fabian and I were able to talk about all that went on we forgot to mention the detail that they sit for most of the ceremony. So I was up front getting those walking down the aisle pics and after a few seconds they sit and I was like “oh wait, what’s happening?!” haaha…it turned out fine but probably one of those awkward moments I’ll laugh about for awhile. (Props to Andi for capturing this sweet moment during the ceremony.)
I just love the relationship Laura and her sister have. Especially because this was how excited she was that her sister got married!
Not to mention the fact that Laura’s sister just kept giving her big hugs…and Laura kept saying jokingly “You already got a hug!”
Even though you may have already seen this in the preview, I just wanted to say a special thanks to the Espanola firemen for letting us take pictures on their truck. Now, how many couples can say they have THIS photo!
