Let’s rewind a few months back to May. I had the great pleasure of second shooting for an old friend, Britianie Wagner Photography at the Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, CO. I hadn’t photographed at this venue before, so I was very delighted to have the opportunity. It is an absolutely stunning Colorado wedding venue and I would HIGHLY recommend it.
When I first got there I told Britianie that if I was ever cramping on her space being the lead photographer to remind me that wasn’t why I was there that day. I haven’t second shoot a wedding in 4 years and man it is HARD to transition backwards. But, I was SO excited to be able to photograph all the amazing details because I normally don’t get the opportunity to spend a whole hour photographing flowers and details because I am with the bride or groom before getting ready.
The simple style this bride choose was perfectly fiting for the Lionscrest Manor that has fresh light just flooding in. The soft pink tones of the peonies and roses went beautiful with the soft grays accenting throughout the wedding. The flowers done by Boulder Blooms were gorgeous! They had succulents and other flowers I couldn’t name for you but they all worked so well together. The two girls that were there setting up were super sweet and took the time to hang around to find the exact person that each arrangement went to. I appreciate that, most florist I’ve been around leave the flowers and labels and let everyone figure it out. Its simple things like this that will totally make your wedding day go smoother.
I have to admit I don’t think I’ll ever go looking for second shooting jobs on my off weekends because I honestly felt really terrible at it. I am too much of a planner and relational person that not knowing the plans ahead of time and the couple before the wedding day was a challenging for me. I just adore the fact that as a main photographer I get to know each and every couple on an individual bases and get to know about their wedding plans from the moment they contact me to the time their wedding roles around. I truly feel like this helps me be a much better photographer rather than a photographer who shows up on your wedding day not know anything. Anyway, here are a few moments that I was able to capture that I loved.
So this was actually after the first kiss. I relish the moments that happen in between, like how absolutely elated they are that they are now married!!
These two were candid. While Britianie was taking photos of the guys I was able to grab these as the bride was chatting with her ladies about her dress.
We’d love to work with you as your Colorado elopement photographer and guide!
