When you’re leaving the reception you always image a big send off, but the reality is most of your guest will not stay to the end of the reception, leaving you with a small crowd and most likely in the dark. Here are some wedding ideas for leaving the reception that don’t include rice or bubbles.

Wedding Idea #4 Leaving the Reception

If you plan on saying your farewells while the sun is still up you could have your guests all hold balloons and release them as you walk through! If you’re doing this at night talk to a vendor about putting glow sticks inside and have everyone raise their balloons instead of release them. (Wouldn’t want glow sticks randomly falling from the sky after the balloon pops. haha)

If you’re leaving in the evening and don’t want to do sparklers you could do floating lanterns  you know like the kind in Tangled. Most firework supply stories carry these.

But you can always do sparklers. As having done this for leaving my own wedding reception note that its good to have  A LOT of lighters, as sparklers don’t last very long, and maybe give each person 2. Its also good idea to have someone coordinating to announce when to light them. 😉

P.S. I’ve heard rice is always a bad idea, as it does hurt when its pegs you in the face. 😉
