You’ve decided you want to do a first look for your wedding photography, now to plan it well. (If you aren’t sure what a first look is or if you want one head to this blog post first.) You’ve planned your wedding to be perfect, so lets talk about planning your first look to go smoothly!
- First you should ask if your groom wants to be the one walked up to or if you the bride wants to walk up to your groom.
- Do you want to be facing each other or one of you turned away?
In almost all the weddings I’ve done the bride walked up to the groom and the groom was turned away.
Sometimes the best pictures are when you are facing each other because if your groom turns the wrong way your photographer could miss his expression. Also, if you are facing each other you get more time to let it all sink in.
The best way to do this is to have your groom tucked away some where you can turn a corner or walk down stairs to “reveal” yourself.
Make sure to communicate your plans with your wedding planner and photographer!
