These two, I just cannot get enough of their easy going playful view on life and love for each other. It has been such an honor and joy to be a part of capturing their love story from their engagement photos to their wedding day at The Evergreen Memorial Barn.
Their Evergreen Barn Wedding started off at the Bear’s Inn down the street. I loved walking in with the girls who were just as excited about Courtney’s wedding day as she was. It is so beautiful to have a group of such sweet friends supporting you on your wedding day.
Instead of doing a first look, Courtney & Kirby exchanged presents and notes. Kirby got Courtney a framed picture of one of their favorite engagement photos with a special note they had written together proclaiming they want to spend the rest of their lives together. He also got her a beautiful gold bracelet that she wore on her wedding day. Courtney got Kirby a watch which was so fitting since he had told her earlier that he wished he had a nice watch to wear on their wedding day.
After they finished getting ready, Courtney did a first look and gift exchange with her dad. I absolutely love this new idea of father of the bride first looks. It can be such a hard day for dads to give their girls away to marriage, and it is so special to have that time with him! Courtney’s father got her a golden figurine of a saint which so perfectly fit and matched her bracelet Kirby bought her. I so love Courtney & her dad’s reactions together.
The day was absolutely perfect for their wedding! A handful of gorgeous clouds painted the sky and everything was set in place for their beautiful Evergreen Barn Wedding. The guys looked handsome in their suits. The girls looked lovely in their elegant mismatching dresses. The flowers were stunning. Courtney was jaw-droppingly beautiful. And Kirby was handsome as ever.
Their ceremony was simply sweet. I loved that Kirby’s sister, Jen, who had passed was so sweetly honored by two groomsmen carrying down a bouquet with a J on it. Kirby filled with tears of joy at seeing Courtney and Courtney laughed in bliss at marrying the man of dreams. Their love was proclaimed in beautiful truth and deep adoration for each other. I especially loved that they recognized through taking communion that marriage is not just about “sealing the deal” but about a holy commitment made before God.
Right after they walked away from everyone–ecstatic that they were finally married–I found it quite hilarious that Kirby was just as excited to be done with wedding planning, haha.
On a different note, I loved these sweet moments after their ceremony. I adore that everyone gave them their space to just be together. 🙂
If we only had this time after the wedding for photos I would say it was a beautiful time for photos but this was only part one. 😉
The reception was fantastic. It was so wonderful to see that their friends and family had the same playful, easy going, fun spirits that both of them have. It made for hilarious speeches and an unforgettable celebratory party.
I was so thrilled that Courtney & Kirby were willing to sneak out for sunset photos, and oh boy are they glad we did. God created one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen this year on their wedding day. What an AMAZING gift from Him! I seriously could have shared way too many pictures from our sunset photo time, but had to narrow it down to these absolute favorites!
The party continued well after dark and it was so much fun to photograph!
Thank you Courtney & Kirby for letting me capture your love and wedding day! You guys are such wonderful amazing people to work with and I was so honored to be a part of your day! Thank you for sharing your lives and your amazing family and friends with us! Cheers!
