These two introverts turned their backyard wedding into a mountain elopement to fit their low key personalities and it couldn’t have turned out more beautifully.
Marsha and Louis love gardening, flowers, and birds so it was fitting that we spent most of the time taking pictures in the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens and they had their ceremony on the front lawn. Marsha’s flowers were stunning. I’ve never seen a bride so in love with her bouquet! They were so lovely, Vintage Magnolia did a stunning job!
Usually I’m able to get photos of the lovely wedding dress not wore by the bride but occasionally I have brides so excited to get in their dress they cannot wait, which was the case for Marsha. When they changed plans to an elopement she got a more simple dress but at the last minute changed her mind surprising her mom who loved this dress. It was such a sweet surprise to witness. I just loved that Marsha did a first look with her family!
While the girls were getting ready the guys were having a drink at the 10th Mountain Whiskey tasting room.
Marsha and Louis did their first look on the back lawn of the Tivoli Lodge where they were staying and got ready. Then they greeted all the immediate family there to celebrate. We spent some time in the Betty Ford Gardens taking photos then had their sweet ceremony.
It was so sweet a bee landed on Marsha’s flowers while we were taking photos. I loved how most girls would probably FREAK out but she was so excited she wanted me to take a photo of it! Sadly, I didn’t have the greatest lens on to take bee photos but he is in there if you look for him!
when you’re ready we’d love to be your Colorado elopement photographers!
After the ceremony we spent more time taking photos of just Marsha & Louis. As we walked back towards town we found a sweet bench for them and played in the water. I cannot express how excited I was that Marsha was willing to dip her toes in the water. It was so much fun to photograph and I’m thankful she found her “toe dip” refreshing in the summer heat.
We ended our photo time walking through the cute Vail Village area before they joined their family and friends for cocktails and dinner.
Thank you Marsha & Louis for allowing me to be a part of your unique vail wedding. It was such an honor to be your vail wedding photographer! Many blessings to you both!
