If you are planning to have that extended amount of time in between the ceremony and the reception a cocktail hour is a great way to fill the time. Instead of having your guest wait for 1-2 hours for you at the reception have a time where they can have some yummy snacks and drinks!
If you are having a winter wedding having hot chocolate and cookies could be the simplest cocktail hour! One of my brides last year actually did this and it was very fitting and looked VERY tasty. Especially with it being 20 degrees outside!
