From the first moment I talked with Kara on the phone I knew we would be a good fit. Kara is so warm and bubbly with that gorgeous smile and cheerful demeanor so genuinely present when she is around. Jason is reserved but very strong and completely in love with his bride. My favorite comment he made while we were shooting was that he loved Kara because she is always smiling and puts up with him. She is his sunshine. Love it! Kara and Jason are from Texas but love the mountains so are doing a destination wedding here in CO. I am so thankful that while they were tying up finishing things with their wedding plans we were able to take some engagement photos. We dedcided to head to Georgetown hoping to play on the frozen lake and also catch some of the gorgeous views this little valley city has but due the piles of snow that just dumped the lake was covered so we found some other great places to photograph, including this an area with a quaint stream.
And can I just say these two are TROUPERS! We went out in below freezing 17 degree weather right around sunset with wind chills below 0 on a cloudy day. Brrr! My hands are still dry from how cold it was, haha. They both had such great attitudes about freezing their buns off! Thankfully Kara just loves the cold. (Girl after my own heart!)

I usually ask most couples about their love languages and how they love each other. Kara shared with me that Jason is her servant and she is his encourager. So beautiful! Kara, also shared that she frequently leaves Jason notes in his lunches or just around for him to find. I am so thankful we were able to include a few of these love notes in their photos! Another thing I get nosey about is how couples are affectionate with each other. I feel like as a photographer its so important to know! No one wants to be posed into a pose that isn’t natural for them! I am so thankful these two are ultra cuddly. When I asked this Kara said that this was exactly how they cuddle and that she has a “spot” on Jason’s chest which she always calls home. Mm, so sweet to capture for them!Cannot wait for their wedding at the end of May!
