A few weeks ago I had the joy of going on a fun trip with my family, which you can see a few photos from here. It was such a refreshing time to get away.
While I was gone I realized since Olive was born and maybe even since I got pregnant with her I hadn’t just gone out to take one photo that was just refreshing for my soul. You know, just capturing the beauty of God’s creation and being able to marvel at it again and again?
I used to regularly go out and take those photos, especially since I live in Colorado, you really don’t have to go far to see stunning things; But having Olive has flipped my world upside down, literally. So, when she was down for a nap my mom kept an eye on her I hopped in the car with my bandit drive (my aunt) and we drove down the road to capture a few of these photos.
Even though we were only out for 30 minutes it was just so healing to be without a baby, be without a schedule or timeline and just capture things as they are. I really need to make a better habit of doing this as a photographer, it is just sooo good.
Some of these photos were actually from my mom and I’s ride up to Breckenridge’s ski base. My favorite for last.
