Lumalia’s debut Memoir, Blooming Upside Down, is out now!

Mount Bierstadt Trailhead | Mount Bierstadt Hike

I hate crowds, as in I will avoid something I really enjoy if there will be a crowd, hate….I did not always used to. As a teen you could easily find me at the newest indie concert jam packed with people ear to ear. But as I’ve gotten older I really appreciate my personal space, peace and quite. So, when I suggested to Josh and his parents we go see the fall colors it came as a surprise to me. I knew we would face crowds but thankfully the crowds were pilled in cars driving up Guanella Pass and the end was Mount Bierstadt that has more than enough room for 100s of people but I was still pretty grumpy  about the traffic. Despite my car sickness and having to hop out of the car in the middle of bummer to bummer traffic on a dirt two lane road and Olive crying 50% of the car ride, it was totally worth it. It was absolutely stunning.
Even the word stunning fails to describe the beauty of this drive. It is no wonder crowds come flocking to see the aspens as they change through this pass, because it was utterly breath taking.

I sadly didn’t take to many photos of the aspens changing as we were driving because I was so queasy I could barely stare out the window, but we did stop and walk around the beginning of the trail to Mount Bierstadt.

My first thought walking around was “Am I really in Colorado?” I felt like I was in the hills and cliffs of Ireland or something. It was unreal.

What an amazing God we have to create such glorious things, if only we herded to Him instead of His creation…Praise Him for sending us His son to redeem us from our distracted selves.
