Lumalia’s debut Memoir, Blooming Upside Down, is out now!

Mandy & Josh’s backyard wedding couldn’t have been more beautiful. Family and friends gathered to transform the Cloud backyard to a gorgeous ceremony and reception location overlooking the Sandia Mountains, family and friends stood around them filling their day with laughter and joy, the most hilarious speeches were spoken or should I say rapped, the most creative father daughter and mother son dances were dance and the if it couldn’t get any better it did with God showered them with the most gorgeous sunset I’ve seen all year. Needless to say it was an amazing day to celebrate Mandy and Josh becoming one.

Having grown up with these mountains, The Sadia’s, I didn’t think they were anything special, but after moving away and coming back I came to realize how beautiful they are. And what an amazing backdrop they made for Josh and Mandy’s backyard wedding!

Some of my favorite details from their wedding was the super unique water color invitations, the ombre bridesmaid dresses that the girls dyed to create a lovely gradation, Mandy’s gorgeous bouquet with dyed lies to match the perfect blue of their wedding colors, and the handmade jewelry by Mandy’s sister, Carly.

Mandy made such a stunning bride. I mean she is gorgeous in real life but she was just stunning as a bride. 😉

I love how silly their who wedding party was. While editing these photos of these al I just about died laughing every-single-time. Also I have to say it was such a joy to work with most of the bridesmaid who I knew and Rachel (The one in the dark blue) is a sweet dear friend it was so fun to photograph them all!) Also, I cannot forget to mention that while we were taking wedding party photos a group of kids doing homecoming pictures were at the same park and photobombed the photos, which Mandy and Josh were totally game for.

Instead of doing a first look Mandy and Josh did a blind folded “first look” It was very sweet and one sweet moments with one of the bridesmaid and her boyfriend happened before the wedding which I am so excited to have captured for them. 😉

There ceremony was simply sweet. I loved that they did a watercolor painting as a part of their unity. Also having Josh’s dog be the ring bearer was pretty adorable too.

We headed back to the park for a few more photos and finished right by the backyard to catch the most amazing sunset I’ve seen in a long time. God’s love just showered these too that night. Its so beautiful to me how much God loves to celebrate weddings even more than we do because weddings are about Him and the picture of His love for us through Christ.

Then came the reception and what an event it was. It began with a groomsmen who couldn’t be there surprising Josh with a video speech, then a very impressive rap speech from the matron’s of honor, a cake fight cake cutting, a sweet first dance…then the most adorable father daughter dance I’ve ever seen that included a skit with Mandy’s whole family re-creating her life with them all, then Josh and his mom did an adorable dance where everyone joined in and the night finished with everyone dancing their hearts away. I loved the celebration of their day and couldn’t have been more blessed to capture it.

Thank you Mandy and Josh for giving me the great joy of capturing your love and being a part of your amazing wedding day. The joy that surrounds you all in your family and friends is such a stunning picture of Christ’s love and I pray your marriage is so greatly blessed by this love too. You two were such a joy to work with and I couldn’t have asked for more a amazing couple to work with!
